Good Care for Mental Health Consumers in Emergency Departments - Workshop

The Department of Health would like to hear your  views about improving  mental health care before, during and after a consumer's  ED visit.

The RISE

Many people in Western Australia go to a hospital Emergency Department (ED) to receive mental health care and some return to ED many times.The Department of Health’s Mental Health Unit is interested in hearing a wide range of views about alternatives to ED attendance for people requiring mental health care and support, as well as how to improve the quality of care provided to people before, during and after an ED visit for mental health reasons.The Mental Health Unit is partnering with Consumers of Mental Health WA (CoMHWA) to learn more about improving care for mental health consumers who attend ED frequently, with a focus on those aged over 18 years. CoMHWA will be facilitating the one-day interactive workshop on 27 April 2022, seeking input on service gaps and what service/quality improvement initiatives could be undertaken.There are a limited number of places available, so we would recommend that you register by 20 April 2022.
