‘Nanna’ Anna has been teaching people about growing and foraging food for 20 years, and has been eating wild foraged mushrooms since she was a child. Her knowledge is broad, and having been a primary school teacher, she uses engaging and easy-to-follow teaching techniques.The Urban Nanna works to educate and inspire people to live more sustainably by adopting Permaculture principles in their everyday lives, no matter where you live. It focuses particularly on how those living in rental properties can adapt traditional permaculture practises to suit their living situations. Follow along on social media for more.

Learning to preserve food is a brilliant way to catch and store energy, especially in late summer when fruits and veggies abound. Using the many different methods of creating sweet preserves is integral to making the most of the seasonal glut.Join &#x27;Nanna&#x27; Anna of The Urban Nanna for a hands-on workshop at beautiful historic Strathdon House where you’ll discuss skills, useful knowledge and the basic processes of making sweet preserves. We&#x27;ll talk through how and why different methods of preserving work, before making a batch of Summer Jam. Included in the session fee is a full-colour learning booklet filled with information and recipes; a followup list of resources to help you extend your learning; and a jar or two of the jam you make on the day.All ingredients will be included in the workshop, but please bring:-	a packed lunch (if you like - no nuts please) &amp; water bottle-	an apron-	a pen for taking notesIn accordance with government regulations, we will need to sight certificates of vaccination for all students prior to the session, and require facemasks to be worn correctly while indoors.Please Note: This event will only proceed if a minimum of 5 participants enroll.
