Join us for our Renew Cairns information session for Cairns Creatives, Businesses, and Community groups.During this information session we will provide you with all the information you need to determine if your business or initiative is ready to activate a commercial property.About the Project:Renew Cairns works with owners and agents of vacant properties to borrow their spaces on a rolling 30-day license. Once properties have been secured, creative enterprises, artists, community groups, and start-ups, are invited to apply to participate.The Renew Cairns team will manage the move-in process and the real estate agent continues to promote the lease/sale of the property, showing interested tenants/buyers through an activated space rather than an empty vacant space.The chosen participant is provided with a rent-free, low cost, temporary space to trial their business idea, creating an interesting and vibrant place for people to visit, while not sacrificing the owner’s ability to find a long-term paying tenant. When a commercial tenant is found or the property is sold, the owner/agent provides Renew Australia 30-days notice to vacate our participant from the property.Learn more about Renew projects in other cities here: https://www.renewaustralia.org/Renew Cairns is currently focusing on Cairns City Centre, and the project is proudly supported by Cairns Regional Council.Event Details:Civic Reception Room, Cairns Regional Council Office, 119-145 Spence Street, Cairns City. There is ample visitor parking behind the building. Please make your way to the main customer entry to register.During this event:- Guests are asked to follow social distancing rules by keeping 1.5m apart from others.- Masks are required for all attendees- Attendees will be required to check-in with the check-in QLD app with the signs on the walls- hand sanitiser is recommended and will be available around the room Please note you will not be permitted entry to this event if:- You are an active COVID-19 case or a close contact of a COVID-19 case- You are currently, or have experienced cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath
