Know Yourself, Grow Yourself, Show Yourself is a mental health festival by the people, for the people. The festival will run at Sunshine Heights PS from Monday 21st March to Friday 25th March 2022 with a full, exciting program of events.

Join Josette Mouawad, a community speaker from Beyond Blue. Josette will share their journey of hope, recovery and resilience in the face of a mental health condition, talk about what Beyond Blue does and how the audience can seek help or support a friend or family member who may find themselves in a difficult position.The session will be an approximately 30-minute talk with time for questions at the end.This talk is targeted at TEENSJosette&#x27;s Story - Josette Mouawad graduated from High School in 2017 and is currently studying at the University of Sydney. Josette and her family migrated to Australia in 2008 to seek medical treatment for her brother. Josette’s life experiences have left her with a powerful desire to become a doctor, and she works passionately towards that goal every day.Josette is also a volunteer speaker for Beyond Blue, a national organisation that works to raise awareness about anxiety and depression, reduce the associated stigma and encourage people to get help.Josette became a Beyond Blue speaker because she hopes to share with others some of what she learnt through her lived experience of a mental health condition. She wants to encourage those struggling to get help, and to highlight that management and recovery are very possible.When not studying, Josette enjoys watching romantic comedies, running and hanging out with family and friends. As a disclaimer, this session will involve discussion of a personal story and experiences with a mental health condition and suicide. For some of you, it may be difficult hear this story, especially if you have experienced a mental health condition yourself, or supported a friend or family member. The talk is completely optional and if you’re worried that the content may be triggering or upsetting you don’t have to stay and you may also leave at any time during the presentation. If you are feeling impacted, please reach out to our EAP, the Beyond Blue support service, or Lifeline on 13 11 14 for support.
