March is Lymphoedema Awareness Month
This session is for women who have lymphoedema as a result of their cancer treatment. Our presenter, Kate Rogers, an experienced lymphoedema practitioner will focus on self-care strategies that you can do to best manage lymphoedema.
We will also hear from Margaret, a Counterpart volunteer, about her experience of managing lymphoedema over a number of years. She will talk about some practical issues including finding good compression garments.
Kate Rogers is an experienced physiotherapist who has a practice specialising in women’s health, oncology and lymphoedema. She’s held positions on the board, as a committee member and conference convenor for Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) and has spoken widely at seminars and conferences on lymphoedema. Kate has been a pioneer in national lymphoedema recognition and assessment and continues to make headway in creating better support for patients across Australia.
This event is for women who have been affected by breast or gynaecological cancer.
