This two day course will provide attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills required to be a mine operator at an opal mine.

Course dates: Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 March 2022Day 1: 9:00am - 5:00pm | Day 2: 9:00am - 5:00pmLocation: Lightning Ridge Bowling ClubThis safety awareness course has been combined with the mine operators’ workshop. It covers the knowledge and skills required to be a mine operator at an opal mine, including safety policy, hazard identification, maintenance, risk management, people management, emergency response plans and contractors.Clause 7B of the Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Regulation 2014 sets out safety training requirements that must be undertaken by opal mine holders and operators.Individuals wanting to apply for a mineral claim in the Lightning Ridge mineral claims district are required to complete this course as part of their application.The course fee includes:<ul><li>a generic Mine Safety Management Plan (MSMP) that can be tailored to suit your operation</li><li>MSMP supplementary documents</li><li>log book</li><li>additional reference material and templates</li><li>NSW opal mine safety guidelines</li><li>morning tea and lunch on both days</li></ul><h3>PLEASE NOTE: When registering, you MUST enter your contact details as they appear on your ID/driver&#x27;s licence/passport. You will be required to email/fax/post/provide a copy of this document to the Resources Regulator prior to the training course.</h3>This event will be held in line with the NSW Government COVID-19 Safety Plan for conferences, functions and corporate events.Attendees must comply with COVID-19 requirements, including those of the venue.
