Topic:  Models of Care of  Mental Health, Alcohol &amp; Other Drugs

In 2022, local clinical connections are more important than ever. This is your chance to embed yourself in your local community of health practitioners to make friends, network, learn new information and have fun in a collaborative, knowledge-sharing space! As voted by members of the society, this meeting will focus on the way in which clinicians can look beyond standard models of care in the mental health and AOD setting. Hear about local referral options, local interventions and online resources that can support you to form a stepped model of care or ‘Plan B’ when service access is limited, when criteria isn’t met, or when clients are seeking something different. Learning outcomes<ul><li>Explore the current architecture of mental health and AOD care plans, including the stepped care model.</li><li>Get to know mental health reform plans for the Ballina and Byron region and ways to advocate for change.</li><li>Examine pathways and eligibility to secure community mental health support.</li><li>Recognise the role of alternate treatment plans and local referral pathways in the management of mental health and AOD.    </li></ul>Facilitated by: Dr Elizabeth Hicks, General Practitioner, First Light Healthcare Ballina and Medical Educator, Healthy North Coast.
