Precious Wings: Supporting Families Through LossSince our founding in 2013, Precious Wings has grown from supporting a single hospital - Mater Mothers in Brisbane - to partnering with58 hospitals across Queensland, 12 major funeral homes, coronial services, Hummingbird House children’s hospice,and variouscommunity and adult palliative care services.Driven by a small, dedicated team who balance professional careers and family life, we are passionate about helping families facing the devastating loss of a child. We provideMemory Boxesto families who lose a baby of any gestation or a child up to the age of 18, regardless of the cause of death. These boxes are distributed through hospitals, funeral homes, and directly to families.We also supplymiscarriage memory bagsto early pregnancy units and emergency departments, and offerfree education sessionsto hospital staff to help them better support bereaved families.Recognising the broader need for compassionate support, we have recently expanded our services to include families experiencing the death of an adult—particularly where children are involved. We work closely with palliative care teams in hospitals and the community to ensure these families receive Memory Boxes that honour their loved ones and provide comfort during an incredibly difficult time.

Precious Wings support groups are open to anyone who has sadly lost a baby or a child of any age and from any cause.

Precious Wings support groups are open to any bereaved mum, dad, grandparent or family member who has faced the devastating loss of a baby or a child at any age and from any cause.Our groups provide an alternative to the traditional support group and are combined with memory box making. This offers a way for bereaved families to honour their children, continue their legacy, and in turn support other families who will face this heartbreaking loss. Precious Wings offers a safe, supportive space to connect with others who understand.To keep it a safe place, this an adults only group, thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you.*Please note that access to the room requires going up a flight of stairs.
