2026 Grant Writing Workshop - Morning Session

If you want to know more about what funding bodies are looking for in grant applications then this FREE workshop is for you!

Learn about ideas and tips for writing grant applications that get noticed.


Registering:

We have allocated two time slots to cater to different availabilities, both sessions are the same and you will only need to attend one. Both workshops will be held in Room 5 at Council's Administration Centre (86 Avoca Rd, Wakeley).

Please note: this registration is for the morning session

Workshop A: Wednesday 25 February | 9am - 12pm (in person)

Who should attend:

This workshop is suitable for NGOs, not-for-profit, Aboriginal, multicultural, arts, sports, school, and community organisations interested in finding out about current and future grant funding, and how it can support your organisation.

The training will be led by experienced facilitators from the not-for-profit sector, offering participants the chance to learn from their expertise while networking and engaging with other community group members during the session

What will be covered:

  • Understanding the funder and what they want from you
  • Aligning the project with the funder outcomes
  • Defining the project’s benefit for the community
  • Deciding if you should apply for the grant
  • Finding evidence to support your project
  • Understanding grant eligibility criteria and guidelines
  • Adhering to the grant conditions and responsibilities
  • Preparing the budget
  • Evaluation of the project and the acquittal
  • Grants project plan
  • Practical writing tips
  • Establishing community capacity building
  • Use of AI (artificial intelligence) in applications
  • Answers to some common grant questions to get you started.

Food, tea, and coffee will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements when you register.
