What, when, and where?
The Australian Placebo Nocebo Symposium will take place again at the University of Sydney on 20th February, 2026. This symposium offers a one-day program dedicated to advancing understanding of placebo and nocebo effects and aims to develop a network of Australian researchers and clinicians interested in this topic. Talks will cover a broad spectrum of topics, ranging from underlying psychological mechanisms and neurobiology to clinical applications.
This event provides a valuable platform for researchers and clinicians to share insights, discuss recent developments, and explore future directions in the study of placebo and nocebo effects.
The event will be in person only and registration will cost $10 for ECRs (students/postdocs) and $20 for academics/clinicians/others.
General registration will close on Friday 13 February, 2026.

We are pleased to announce that Professor Melanie Takarangi from Flinders University and Professor Keith Petrie from the University of Auckland, New Zealand will deliver keynote addresses.
