Weekend 1: April 6-7th : Metaphors and Chakras( online only)

Description for Metaphors and Chakras (MAC 2)

For almost the entire evolution of the human race we have communicated by sharing stories. Within these stories we find metaphoric elements. Stories or metaphors shape how we learn, communicate and discover new ways of looking at life.

Through verbal stories that hold symbolic representations, we are able to form new magical associations from ordinary common elements and this changes how we view ourselves and our past experiences. We often get drawn to the mirror of the story as it reflects our own experiences.

A great metaphor weaves its magic and indicates an outcome that allows us to view our own experiences in a new novel way.

Many of us experience unique events in our lives, however most of these are re-occurring stories that other have experienced from the beginning of time.

Mac 2 continues with the theme of using Metaphors for self-reflection, better understanding and healing. However we now integrate the use of balancing Chakras at the same time. The course has an overview of the chakra system and the Metaphors that are chosen are stories that would be useful when working imbalances associated to Chakra themes. This may include

• The importance of stillness and courage for Base chakra

• The importance of creative thinking and acting for sacral.

• The importance of self-confidence for Solar plexus.

• The importance of compassion and balance between giving and receiving for the heart.

• The importance of listing and expressing for the Throat chakra.

• The importance of the state of mind we hold for Brow and finally the ability to be in the moment for the crown.

Weekend 2: June 8-9th : Essential oils and Kinesiology

Description For Essential oils and kinesiology

I would like to invite you to learn about the amazing benefits of essential oils, the course is well balanced with emphasis both on the neurology of the olfaction system and specifically how it interacts with our limbic and temporal lobes. Yet it also dives into energetics, meditation, healing and the special connection we have to the plant kingdom. You will learn how to use the oils in clinic settings and connections between essential oils, body regions and chakras.

Olfaction evolved at least 550 million years ago. Phylogenetically the sense of vision and hearing are a much younger systems. The sense of smell unlike vision and hearing does not rely upon the thalamus for cortical transmissions. Out of all our sensory systems that interpret our surroundings the olfaction is the most vulnerable as it is virtually unprotected from the external environment in the nose. Recent studies are showing large associations between decreased smell function in degenerative disorders, notably Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases. Olfaction’s close neural connections with temporal lobe and limbic brain regions, which are associated with memory and emotion, are explored within this course.

Over the last 700 million years, plants have evolved to survive in almost all types of habitat throughout the world. One of the ways they achieved this is through the production of essential oils. Some plants use essential oils to be able to pollinate more efficiently, others use essential oils to defend against other animals and insects. In some environments plants have been shown to use essential oils to protect against water loss. Other plants develop essential oils to protect against fungus and other microbes.

The interaction between human kind and use of plants is lost in history, as we have been using plant-based products for wellbeing far longer than our ability to write and document this.

Every essential oil is unique and although much is known about the affects of many essential oils like Peppermint for digestion and Ginger for nausea and lavender for calming. It is imperative to understand that each of us is unique with different limbic experiences and temporal memories and thus, such each oil may have significantly unique affects on our being. We look at this phenomena in detail within this course.

This course explores 12 essential oils, it looks at what they can be used for and how they can be beneficial in our every day life and when working with dissolving stress in clinic settings. Both Muscle monitoring and exploration through sense of smell technique are employed within the course.

Weekend 3: June 29th-30th: HQF 1

Description for Harmonizing QI Flow 3 course series

This Kinesiology strand of courses is based on the research and work of Japanese physician and respected researcher Yoshio Manaka. Ondrej Bursik wrote these courses over 12 years with the help of Acupuncturists trained in both Chinese and Japanese approaches to working with Qi flow and disharmony.

In 2021 the HCF Workshops have been improved, expanded and changed from HCF1 and HCF 2 into the following 3 workshops.

HQF1 -Stem Branch and Open Point Theory

HQF2 – Origins and Flow

HQF3 – Flowing with Life

HQF1 – Stem, Branch and Open Point Theory.

There is an old Chinese proverb “Find the one who uses one needle and you find the master” This proverb forms the understanding of the Stem and Branch Theory and the use of Open points to treat all disharmony. Arguably this is the oldest form of Acupuncture dating back to the Dao Ra era (the advisor to the Yellow emperor) dating back 1400-2400BC. It is said by observing the sun, moon and stars, the patterns of growth and decline. The Chinese sages of the old, learned the laws of the universe and established their lives to follow these standards in accordance to the universe. This was the root of the GanZhi. In this course we look at these roots, which became the Stem and Branch Theories and eventually the Open Point theory. This workshop teaches you to use the Stem and Branch information, which can be applied in every session and every day to come closer to harmony. The Open Point theory is a combination of the Stem and Branch systems and uses extra 8 master points to balance the body. Such application is not dependent on signs and symptoms, goal or chief complaint of the client. Rather, it is based on timing. Open Point can be used within every and any procedure you have ever learned in Kinesiology.

Although some information on Open Points has been included in the OLD HCF 1. This NEW workshop is significantly expanded and gives the learner a greater appreciation and understanding of this ancient system. This course looks at the Stem System, branch System and Open point system. It also introduces subprograms that look at Sinews and Cutaneous Regions of the body.

Weekend 4: August 17-18th : Metaphors and Acupressure

Description for Metaphors and Acupressure (MAC 1)

Our Mac 1 course explores these stories, by looking into and covering some of the most fundamental stress patterns that we have experienced and often hold onto.

It introduces metaphors that we can share with our clients so they can create new associations, a new understanding of what they are trying to let go of in their journeys. Once they understand that their pain is not so unique it is easier to let go.

However, the course is much more than learning about Metaphor’s. It also integrates this with acupressure.

Chinese acupressure has been used for 1000’s of years and many acupressure points help with, spiritual and psychological issues.

This course blends the world of metaphors and acupressure together, by taking a client through a story that will allow them to understand and create new connections. While at the same time holding associate acupressure points that work on the same patterns is a very powerful way of shifting stress.
