This workshop is designed to give you the confidence to create and grade your assignments on the LMS. By the end of this workshop, you will be able to differentiate Assignments and Assignment Groups, create various assignment types and recognise the purpose of weighted Assignment Groups.

In addition, it explains the relationship between the LMS Assignments, SpeedGrader and Gradeboook, and provides an overview of the key considerations when implementing complex assessment strategies in practice.

Topics covered in this session include:

- LMS Assignments

- SpeedGrader

- Gradebook

- Sections

- Basic navigation.


This workshop is for:
Subject coordinators and other teaching staff.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

-Implement complex assessment strategies using the LMS Assignments
-Differentiate between LMS assignment types and their related marking options in the SpeedGrader
-Organise the Gradebook in preparation for a release of student grades.

Content Not Covered:
This workshop will not be focusing on other components of Canvas LMS.

Recommended Background Knowledge:
This workshop is most useful to university teaching staff who are coordinating or teaching a subject or a program of study, and are involved in assessment design and/or grading.
