About this event

  • 1 hour

This year, the Marian Barrett Lecture will take the form of a series of three presentations highlighting nursing’s contribution to the delivery of equitable care, followed by a panel discussion and Q&A. “Equity in Health Care – Every Nurse's Business” will illustrate the diversity of ways in which, and contexts where nurses work, to deliver care to marginalised and disadvantaged people in our community. Homelessness, disability and mental health present considerable barriers to care, compounding health disparities for these groups. This year’s speakers will showcase nursing’s influence through practice, policy and research to improving health outcomes for those impacted by barriers to care and treatment.

This seminar will include a panel discussion with presenters Dr Cathy Daniel, Adjunct Associate Professor Violet Platt, Ms Ingrid Sutherland, and panel facilitator Prof Mei Krishnasamy. Find out more about the presenters: 2024 Marian Barrett Lecture: Equity in Health Care - Every Nurse's Business.

This session will be followed by networking, canapes and beverages.
