The purpose of this workshop is to expose beginners to the concepts of UDL and generate a positive commitment toward UDL practice.

This workshop is for:
Academic staff who are coordinating or teaching into subjects. Other staff are welcome.

Intended Learning Outcomes:

-Define Universal Design for Learning (UDL)

-Describe the three main principles of UDL.

-Explain why the UDL approach can be valuable for learners.

-Modify existing subjects using UDL principles.


Content Not Covered:
This workshop is not a deep dive into digital accessibility, or even a deep dive into UDL. We are happy to build custom workshops to do that.

Recommended Background Knowledge:
No prior knowledge of UDL is required, but we assume that attendees have taught at university, and are familiar with tertiary teaching practice (e.g., rubrics, writing learning objectives).
