This workshop explores theory and practice of authentic assessment in higher education. Authentic assessment refers to designing and assessing tasks which closely resemble those encountered in professional practice. After an exploration of the key principles, you will have the opportunity to explore examples of authentic assessment in different disciplines, and practise applying an authentic design framework


This workshop is for:
Subject coordinators and other teaching staff.


Intended Learning Outcomes:

-Articulate key authentic assessment design principles.
-Explore examples of authentic assessment tasks in different disciplines.
-Practise applying an authentic design framework.

Content Not Covered:
This workshop will not be focusing on specific tools such as ChatGPT and their usage.


Recommended Background Knowledge:
This workshop is most useful to university teaching staff who are coordinating or teaching a subject or a program of study.
