2024 Curriculum Connect Symposium
Misinformation, Fake News and AI: Building critical thinking in a post truth classroom.
Tuesday 23 July 2024
In a "post-truth" era, where people are more likely to accept an argument based around emotions than facts, and where misinformation is rampant, it is essential for educators to equip students with the skills to discern credible sources, question information, and think critically.
This one-day event will bring together teachers, teacher librarians, educational leaders, and truth-tellers from across the professional sector to learn, collaborate and connect.
With keynote addresses, break-out presentations, and a panel Q&A discussion, it is the aim of this year’s symposium to:
- Foster innovation by providing teachers and teacher librarians with practical knowledge and inspiration,
- Increase awareness of the importance, complexity and magnitude of AI technology,
- Equip educators with effective strategies and tools to cultivate critical thinking in their students.
