Join us for the online live launch of the Australian Mental Health Prize 2021.

The event will be hosted by Lucy Brogden and Professor Allan Fels AO, Chairs of the Australian Mental Health Prize Advisory Group, with an address by one of the 2020 award recipients and West Australian of the Year 2021, Helen Milroy.

About Professor Helen Milroy

Professor Helen Milroy is a descendant of the Palyku people of the Pilbara region of Western Australia and an expert in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry. Helen is the 2021 West Australian of the Year and one of the two recipients of the 2020 Australian Mental Health Prize. She was appointed as commissioner for the Australian Government's Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse from 2013-2017. Helen was also the first Indigenous commissioner to the Australian Football League.

About the Australian Mental Health Prize

The Australian Mental Health Prize was established in 2016 by UNSW Faculty of Medicine and Health through its School of Psychiatry, Australia's pre-eminent psychiatric research department. It recognises Australians who have made outstanding contributions to either the promotion of mental health, or the prevention and treatment of mental illness.
