Description

Three Minute Thesis CompetitionBond University invites you to participate in, or attend as a guest to the 2018 Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition.

The 3MT celebrates the exciting research conducted by PhD students around the world. Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ), the competition cultivates students' academic, presentation, and research communication skills.

Presenting in a 3MT competition increases capacity to effectively explain your research in three minutes, in a language appropriate to a non-specialist audience. Competitors are allowed one PowerPoint slide, but no other resources or props.

Don’t miss this opportunity to practise your presentation skills, meet other HDR candidates, and have a chance to win up to $2000 in research travel grants!

The 2018 3MT competition will be held at 12.30pm - 3.00pm, Thursday, 2 August, 2018 in the Princeton Room and we would like to encourage HDR PhD and Masters (by Research) students to participate.

If eligible, the winning student will go on to compete in the 2018 Asia-Pacific 3MT Competition.

To learn more about the competition history, rules, and gain valuable preparation tips, visit the 3MT website.

Registration for guests and competitors will close on Friday, 6 July, 2018 at 5pm for catering purposes (light lunch served from 12.00pm - 12.30pm).

Please note;

  • There are a maximum of 20 competitors permitted - please ensure you register early if you wish to compete
  • Once registered, competitors will have until 5.00pm Friday, 20 July to submit their one-page PowerPoint presentation to Jo Johnson (e. jjohnson@bond.edu.au) - Late submissions will not be permitted to compete
