Join the Australian Radio Communications Industry Association as we host our annual Brisbane Industry Dinner and Networking night on 26 July at Rydges Hotel in Brisbane.

This is a unique opportunity to join other radio professionals and share the excitement of an energised industry that continues to grow and establish new wireless opportunities.

Member and non-member tickets can be purchased with the option of booking a full table of 10 at a discount rate.

Guest Speakers

Chris Phillips (ICT Managerand Mathew Peterson (Head of Technology) for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation will be this year's guest speakers. 

Mathew Peterson

Mathew is the Head of Technology for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. Through an extensive 20-plus year career history in ICT across financial services, government and major event industries, Mathew has deep expertise in technology senior management, strategy, delivery and operations.

He was responsible for successful delivery of seven strategic programs across a three-year period for the Games including technology communications, infrastructure, timing and scoring, applications, venue technology, security and governance.

Chris Phillips 

Chris is an experienced technologist with over 25 years developing and managing telecommunications capabilities within domestic and international environments. Chris started his ICT journey in the military where he quickly rose through the ranks to occupy senior telecommunications positions responsible for tactical, operational and strategic communications services. Whilst in the military Chris had the privilege to lead an ICT organisation as an Officer Commanding, and be appointed as the Signal Operations Officer responsible for operational and strategic communications services supporting Australia Special Forces operations being conducted worldwide.



 

Nominations for the QLD Industry Professional of Year

Nominations for the QLD Industry Professional of Year are open and can be made by emailing info@arcia.org.au by 15 July. Nominees must fall under one or more categories:

  • an industry professional who has made a significant contribution to the radio industry; 
  • an apprentice or new talent who has achieved well above expectations; 
  • an industry professional who has developed an innovation that provides increased opportunity or value to the industry; 
  • an industry professional who has developed initiatives in training or similar areas that benefit the entire industry within the state

The winner will be announced at the Dinner.

ARCIA is the peak national industry body representing the two-way and associated wireless radio communications industry in Australia. ARCIA is a not-for-profit, incorporated Association that seeks to promote issues such as the protection and better utilisation of the radio communications sections of the spectrum. It also works to increase the level of training and expertise of those who are employed in radio communications as well as promote increased public knowledge of the vital role that the radio communications industry plays in Australia's way of life.
