Too Hot to Handle: Triage & Managing Heat Stroke
Triage, heat stroke, then dinner and drinks on us. Our last nurse CPD night of the year at Camperdown Commons – dogs welcome!
When patients arrive, every second counts – and triage decisions can make all the difference. 🔥🐾
This practical session focuses on triage in everyday veterinary practice, building confidence in rapid assessment, prioritisation, and recognising the patients that need immediate intervention.
We’ll then bring these skills to life through the management of heat stroke – one of the most time-critical emergencies you’ll encounter, and one you’ll be seeing plenty of over the next few months.
Learn how to assess severity, initiate appropriate cooling, and avoid common pitfalls, while applying core triage principles in a real-world scenario. Designed to be fast-paced and practical, this session will help you think clearly under pressure, act decisively, and deliver better outcomes when it matters most.
