Future Fiestas workshops with Leeroy New
Future Fiestas asks you to widen your imagination and draw on your creativity to transform everyday materials such as plastic or cardboard.
Come make something strange, joyful and unexpected, and watch them come to life!
Future Fiestas asks you to widen your imagination and draw on your creativity to transform everyday materials such as plastic or cardboard into brilliant costumes and spectacular sculptural forms.
Drawing on Filipino fiesta traditions, where ceremony, performance, community and spectacle meet, artist Leeroy New will work alongside community from Blacktown to create wearable artworks.
In January 2027, these sculptures will come alive, stepping off their pedestal to join the crowd as part of Sydney Festival 2027.
