Introduction to AI

AI is everywhere, but it needn't be confusing. In this Introduction course we introduce the basic principles and give you some new skills.

This friendly, one-hour introduction is for anyone who's curious about AI and wants to start using it, but isn't sure where to begin. No tech-speak, and no question is too basic.

We'll explain what AI is in plain English, show you the main tools, and help you try them for yourself.

You'll leave feeling more confident and ready to use AI safely in your everyday life.

In this session, we'll cover:

• What AI is (and isn't): explained simply, with everyday examples
• The main AI tools: what they are and which ones are worth knowing about
• How to use them: hands-on examples on your phone, tablet or computer
• Staying safe: how to protect your privacy and spot AI scams

There'll be plenty of time for your questions, and to talk through anything you're unsure about.

A light afternoon tea is included.
