Instrument-Making Workshop: The Death Cycle of a Piano
Join artist Jono Everett and the Death Cycle of a Piano team to use components salvaged from the deconstructed piano to make ins.
What can a piano become after its final note?
Using components salvaged from the deconstructed piano, participants will design and construct their own experimental musical instruments under the guidance of artist Jono Everett.
Musicians Jet Everett and Andrew Hassal will be on site throughout the day recording and responding to the sounds that emerge, creating an evolving soundtrack for the project.
Whether your creation produces rhythm, melody or something entirely unexpected, you'll play a role in transforming an old instrument into something new.
Participants Will:
- Explore creative reuse and sustainable making
- Experiment with sound and instrument design
- Create a unique musical instrument to take home
- Contribute recordings to the project's final sound composition
- Work alongside artists and musicians in a collaborative environment
