Question 1

Can I come on my own?

Accepted Answer

Most people do. You're placed into a small group within the first ten minutes, so nobody walks alone.

Question 2

Can I bring a friend?

Accepted Answer

Of course. You can book up to five places in one order, or come on your own. Both are completely normal.

Question 3

Who is it for?

Accepted Answer

Any adult who would like more real connection in their life. People come at every age and stage, and most arrive not knowing anyone.

Question 4

Do I need to be fit?

Accepted Answer

No. It's a walk, not a hike. The pace is set by the group, not a schedule. Conversation is the point, fitness is not.

Question 5

What actually happens on the morning?

Accepted Answer

We meet at 8am and walk together in small groups for around an hour. Along the way we pause for one wellbeing practice, something small and practical you can use again during the week. Then everyone sits down together. Around two hours, and nobody watches the clock.

Question 6

Where do we meet?

Accepted Answer

Westerfolds Park, Fitzsimons Lane, Templestowe. There's only one entrance to the park, and we meet at the car park just inside it. If you can't find us, call 0431 921 961.

Question 7

What is there to eat?

Accepted Answer

Tea, coffee and light refreshments, set out on one table so people stay sitting together. Kept simple on purpose so we can serve it safely in a park.

Question 8

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The morning and the refreshments are free, and there's nothing to buy on the day. If you can't make it, please cancel your ticket so someone else can have your spot.

Question 9

What should I bring?

Accepted Answer

Comfortable shoes, a jacket if the sky looks like it, and an open mind. Turn up ready to meet people and the rest takes care of itself.

Question 10

What if I am running late?

Accepted Answer

Come anyway. Call or message 0431 921 961 and we'll tell you where we are on the path. It's easier to catch up than you'd think.

Question 11

What if it rains?

Accepted Answer

We walk in light rain, so bring a jacket. If the weather looks unsafe, Renu makes the call by 5pm the day before and lets everyone know.

Question 12

Is this therapy or a support group?

Accepted Answer

No. This is not therapy, counselling or medical advice, and not a substitute for any of them. It's a morning among people. There's no circle where your turn comes around, and nobody is asked to share anything they'd rather not.

Question 13

Is this dating or networking?

Accepted Answer

Neither. No singles agenda, no business cards, no elevator pitches. It's about wellbeing and human connection.

Question 14

Do I have to book, or can I just turn up?

Accepted Answer

Please book. The groups are kept small on purpose, and we plan the food for the number of people we're expecting.

Question 15

How do I join The Journey?

Accepted Answer

Book it directly whenever you're ready. Plenty of people come to a Sunday morning first to see how it feels, but it isn't a requirement.

Question 16

How do you handle my information?

Accepted Answer

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Our privacy policy is at themissingpiece.life/privacy
