From the organisers of LAST Conference comes 1st Conf, for people who are in their first stages of working with agility, the people who work with them, and for people who want to take agile to the whole organisation. Expanded to 2 days for 2017, it is fast becoming an essential event on the calendar. Numbers are limited at this event, to give you a unique, community-based, learning experience.
Dr Alistair Cockburn
Alistair will introduce the conference to the Heart of Agile framework.

Alistair Cockburn is an inspirational speaker and one of the initiators of the agile movement in software development. He helped write the original Manifesto for Agile Software Development in 2001, the agile Project Mangement Declaration of Interdependence in 2005, and co-founded the International Consortium for Agile in 2009. He is a principal proponent of the use case for documenting business processes and behavioural requirements for software, and inventor of the Cockburn Scale for categorising software projects. He has spoken at events all over the world, including the keynotes at Agile 2009, Ruby Conf 2010, Agile Roots 2010 and Scrum Day Paris 2014.

When designing 1st Conference 2017, we wanted to:

…and be the first event in the Southern Hemisphere to be based upon the “Heart of Agile” concept. This seeks to get back to the roots of what Agile is really all about and is the result of decades of experience that Dr Cockburn has, working with organisations and teams who want to find better ways to work.
Create more meaningful Learning Opportunities.
1st Conf will run over two days and is designed to be an experience for delegates to cover the Heart of Agile of concepts of Collaborate, Deliver, Reflect and Improve. With top class experts from overseas and also from our region.
On Day One, each concept will be explored by experts on the subject area in a series of talks intended to position and explain the quadrant within the larger Heart of Agile model.
Day Two is intended to deepen the understanding from day one, through a series of practical workshops. Delegates will be able to attend a workshop covering each Heart of Agile area. Each workshop will teach one or more practical techniques that attendees can take back to their workplaces and put to immediate use.
Use a new venue.
We selected RMIT’s Storey Hall as its spaces support the new format in a better way than the previous venue.
We as organisers support conference diversity and we commit to enhance the diversity of speakers and workshop facilitators.
Can I get a tax invoice?
Yes. Eventbrite should automatically send you a Tax Invoice for Australian taxation purposes. Registration price is includes GST and booking fees.
Is my registration refundable?
A full refund of registration fees paid will be provided if delegates cancel their attendance by a formal notification such as e-mail before midnight on 11 January 2017.
A 75% refund will be made if a delegate cancels attendance before midnight on 25 January 2017.
A 50% refund will be made if a delegate cancels attendance before midnight on 8 February 2017.
No refund can be made after midnight on 22 February 2017.
A full refund will be made if the event is cancelled. Tabar Pty Ltd will not be held liable for any additional delegate costs incurred such as travel and accommodation.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Situated in the Melbourne Central Business District, there is paid parking is available at parking buildings in the vicinity. We highly recommend that you take public transport to the venue. The closest train station is Melbourne Central, approximately 2 minutes walk from the venue. There are also many trams along Swanston St.
