Our Culturally Responsive Youth Practice training provides a space for anyone interested in learning more about working with multicultural young people, or reflecting on their own cultural perspectives, assumptions and practice. Participants will build a deeper awareness of key skills and introduce practical strategies that shape how they work with young people, families and communities from migrant and refugee backgrounds.
Expected Learning Outcomes
- Explore the complexities of culture and its influence on our own worldview
- Examine what implicit bias is and how it is relevant to cultural responsiveness
- Build awareness of the knowledge, skills and attitudes that support a culturally responsive approach
- Identify culturally responsive strategies for effective work with young people from migrant and refugee backgrounds
