Connect with nature these school holidays and sharpen your observation skills at this fun and fascinating nature journaling workshop.

Children will enjoy a fun and fascinating workshop learning the basics of nature journaling. Nature journaling is the creative practice of recording your interactions with nature on paper. You can use sketches, paintings, poetry, species lists, numbers, graphs, cartoons and more. This fun, easy, relaxing practice encourages mindfulness, hones observation skills, and cultivates a sense of curiosity and wonder!

Please bring your own basic sketch/art book. Other materials provided.

After the workshop, visit the environment centre or remain in the reserve to continue nature journaling.

COST: Free.

AGE: Suitable for ages 9 years and over. All children must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult.

BOOKINGS: Required via Eventbrite. Maximum 5 tickets are places are limited. Please cancel via Eventbrite if you cannot attend.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION BEFORE YOU REGISTER:

  • All adults and children must have a ticket.
  • A ratio of 1adult per 4 children is required.
  • All children must be accompanied throughout by a supervising adult booked into the event, even if the supervising adult does not participate (though we're sure you will enjoy the session too!).
  • Booking contact details: when booking your tickets, please enter the mobile phone number and email address of the supervising adult who will be attending on the day.

REQUIREMENTS ON THE DAY:

  • Please bring your your own sketch/art book or pad.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in with staff at the environment centre.
  • All children must be directly supervised throughout by an adult booked into the event.
  • Wear a hat, sun-safe clothing, sunscreen, fully enclosed shoes (no thongs or open shoes please), and bring insect repellent.
  • Please bring an outdoor chair if you would like to use one.
  • Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.

Note: This activity will go ahead in light rain and can be deliverd indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
