Water Catchment Tour

Water Catchment Tour

Overview

Ever wondered where your water comes from, and where it goes once it leaves your home?

Experience each step of the journey on a Water Catchment Tour, a free event that will begin in the hinterland, and end at the ocean.

On this tour we’ll visit:

The magic pools of Upper Orara.

The beautiful Orara River, one of the sources of Coffs Harbour’s drinking water supply.

Karangi Dam, our local water storage.

Coffs Harbour Water Reclamation Plant, the place our wastewater is treated once it’s gone down the sink, drain and toilet.

Gallows Beach, to complete the journey.

Tickets are limited and registration is essential. Free bus transportation will be available from Yarrila Place (27 Gordon Street, Coffs Harbour) for all attendees of the tour.

This event is held as part of the City’s National Water Week (NWW) program. The 2026 NWW theme is ‘Water is life’.
