Celebrating History Week 2026 : 'Keeping Stories'
As part of History Week 2026 and this year's theme, Keeping Stories, join us for a unique Living Library event featuring participants from local podcast series, The Dairy Lane Project. Through personal stories, family memories, and firsthand accounts, our guest speakers will explore the rich history of dairying in the Shoalhaven and the generations of families who helped shape the region.
The area between Berry and Bomaderry holds a remarkable agricultural heritage. For much of the twentieth century, dairy farming was the backbone of the local economy, and the stories of the people who lived and worked on the land remain an important part of our community's identity. Drawing on the oral histories collected through The Dairy Lane Project, this event offers a rare opportunity to hear these stories directly from descendants of early settlers and farming families.
Following the presentations, attendees will be invited to take part in an extended Q&A session, providing the chance to ask questions, share reflections, and connect with living sources of local history.
