About the Author:

David Raymond BM APM is one of Australia's most experienced police dog handlers, apprehending hundreds of offenders and saving countless lives over his 36 year policing career, including 26 years in the dog squad. David was known for his calmness under pressure and energetic leadership skills. He is renowned for his exemplary leadership and operational capability in the most demanding of circumstances. His outstanding reputation has emerged from an ability to apply critical expertise in extremely challenging policing environments and demonstrate extraordinary, unwavering dedication to the safety of the community. His pursuit of excellence influences police officers at all levels, and positions him as a constant driving force behind successful, urgent policing responses and enhancement of frontline service delivery. During his career he was the recipient of numerous awards including the Australian Bravery Medal (BM) the Australian Police Medal (APM) and Australian Commendation for Brave Conduct. After his career David authored a true crime book, Vader - A Police Dog Story published by Big Sky Publishing which quickly became popular around the country. David now brings to stage these stories of courage, danger, fear and unwavering loyalty in the most trying of situations.
