Luminous Life: A Twilight Discovery Experience at ANBG

Luminous Life: A Twilight Discovery Experience at ANBG

Overview

Step beyond the Garden gates and discover what grows—and glows—after dark in the Australian National Botanic Gardens

As part of Floriade About Town 2026, join Australian National Botanic Gardens Rangers for an exclusive guided twilight adventure through Australia's national collection of native plants. Explore the Gardens during peak spring flowering and experience a side of nature rarely seen by day.

As the sun sets, you'll journey through the Gardens using specialist UV and spotlight torches to reveal fluorescent flowers, hidden fungi, fascinating plant structures and nocturnal wildlife. Learn about the remarkable adaptations of Australia's native plants and animals, and discover the ecology of the bush after dark.
