Question 1

How do I register for the event?

Accepted Answer

On this page, click "Register Now" at the top of the page. We'll then ask for a few of your details to help our staff plan for the day. Once you've submitted your registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail in your inbox to the e-mail address you used to register.

Question 2

How much does the event cost to register?

Accepted Answer

Registration and attendance at all our Family Day events are free.

Question 3

How long does the event go for?

Accepted Answer

Family Day starts at 11am and ends at 1pm. We appreciate you arriving promptly, but from there you can stay as long as long as you'd like, up until the end of the event time.

Question 4

Does registering and/or attending help me move up the waitlist/guarantee me a place at a centre?

Accepted Answer

No. Attending any of our Family Day events does not guarantee any family a place at the centre. Family Day is an opportunity for your family to experience and see our SDN village for yourself. You can speak to the team directly about joining our waitlist or enquire about availability.

Question 5

Can I bring my child?

Accepted Answer

Of course! We'd love to meet your child, get to know them better, and see what they think of the centre too. Please note that while our centre staff are busy providing tours, they cannot provide supervision. By registering, you take full responsibility for supervising your child(ren).

Question 6

Can I bring my pram / Is there anywhere I can leave my pram?

Accepted Answer

For younger children in prams, most of our centres have pram parking spaces where you may be able to leave your pram for the duration of your stay.

Question 7

Do I need to bring anything to the event?

Accepted Answer

You don't need to bring anything particular on the day, but feel free to bring anything that your child may need or want, such as their favourite toy or water bottle. Our wonderful educators are very experienced at helping your child and family to feel safe and comfortable.

Question 8

Do I need to prepare anything for the event?

Accepted Answer

If you haven't already, we recommend learning more about us on our centre page on the SDN website. You can also learn more about SDN by visiting our social channels and seeing some of the stories how we support children's wellbeing, learning and development across our services.

Question 9

What if I can't make the date?

Accepted Answer

We're sad you won't be able to join us on the week, but we understand that other plans are made in advance or may unexpectedly come up.
Instead, you can book a tour at any of our centres when convenient for you and depending on the centre's availability. Book via our site: www.sdn.org.au/book-a-tour

Question 10

Does SDN have an educational program?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All our centres have a play-based educational program that recognises Early Learning is a journey.
You can learn more about our educational program at the event and here: https://www.sdn.org.au/services/early-childhood-education-and-child-care/our-educational-program/

Question 11

Can I attend more than one event?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! Some of our centres are located in close proximity to each other, which means you can potentially attend up to a few on the same day.

Question 12

Is there parking available?

Accepted Answer

Many of our centres have parking spaces conveniently located out front or nearby. Parking spaces may be limited and are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Plan your trip early to allow for time to locate the centre and find a parking space. Centres are all also accessible by public transport.

Question 13

I have accessibility or special requirements - who do I contact about this?

Accepted Answer

We are an inclusive village where everyone belongs. We'll try out best to accommodate any accessibility or special requirements - it’s best to contact us first so we can talk to you about how we can best prepare our space to meet your needs - 1300 831 445 or sdn@sdn.org.au

Accepted Answer

We may not be able to meet all dietary requirements on the day of the event. However, our centre cooks are very well trained in catering to dietary requirements for children when in our care (such as gluten-free, vegetarian, nut or dairy free, etc.).

Question 16
