Junior Ranger – Plant Pioneers
Help your child (ages 8–12) learn more about plants at this PLANT PIONEERS session at David Fleay Wildlife Park.
Time to branch out into the incredible world of plants!
This FREE Junior Ranger (ages 8 to 12) PLANT PIONEERS session at David Fleay Wildlife Park (Burleigh Heads) is a hands-on adventure into the living, breathing biodiversity found right here in South East Queensland.
Guided by David Jinks from Gold Coast Botany, a professional field botanist with decades of experience exploring local forests, Junior Rangers will discover what biodiversity is and why it matters and will investigate the fascinating variety of plant types and species growing throughout the park. Through guided observation activities, Junior Rangers will see the natural world with fresh eyes, noticing just how much is going on beneath the canopy at ground level.
Curiosity is the only skill required, but all botanists-in-training must wear a hat and enclosed shoes!
This fully supervised session is part of the Parks Connect Junior Ranger program.
Parks Connect is proudly supported through funding from the Queensland Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
