Join our RAP network’s NAIDOC "50 Years of Deadly" with UQ Alumnus, Dean Parkin, as we celebrate 50 years of Deadly at UQ
NAIDO - "50 Years of Deadly"
Join us for UQ's RAP NAIDOC celebration as we mark "50 Years of Deadly", celebrating five decades of honouring the strength, resilience, achievements and enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We are honoured to welcome Dean Parkin, UQ alumnus (Bachelor of Arts – Politics and Journalism, 2003), as our special guest speaker. A proud Quandamooka man from Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island), Dean is one of Australia's leading Indigenous advocates and strategists. He is widely recognised for his role as National Campaign Director of the Yes23 campaign during the 2023 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament referendum and currently serves as Director of Indigenous Engagement and Strategy at Westpac.
Dean will share reflections on leadership, advocacy and the ongoing journey towards reconciliation and recognition.
