Propagation Workshop Community Information Morning

Tingalpa Creekcare is a partnership between Seqwater and Bulimba Creek Catchment Committee. The program aims to work with interested landholders within the Upper Tingalpa Creek catchment to address key threats to water quality. The Upper Tingalpa Creek Catchment includes the suburbs of Burbank, Sheldon, Priestdale and parts of Mount Cotton, Daisy Hill, Springwood, Rochedale South, Rochedale, Mackenzie, Belmont, Chandler and Capalaba. Creeks and tributaries in this catchment flow into the Leslie Harrison Dam, known locally as Tingalpa Creek Reservoir The reservoir is a key source of our region’s drinking water.By participating in the program landholders can access networking opportunities, advice and on the ground assistance to tackle specific weeds such as cats claw creeper.  By participating in the program, landholders can benefit from increased community connections, weed management support, training and workshops and free native plants. It’s up to all of us to ensure our water is safe to enjoy, now and into the future.

<h3>Propagation Workshop &amp; Community Information Morning</h3>Upper Tingalpa CreekcareJoin us for a hands-on propagation workshop while learning more about the Upper Tingalpa Creekcare program and the important role our community plays in protecting the health of the Upper Tingalpa catchment.This relaxed and practical morning will give you the opportunity to learn new skills, explore our community nursery, and connect with others who care about local waterways and native plants. <h3>Date and Time</h3>Saturday 21 March 2026 9:00am – 11:00am<h3>Location</h3>B4C Sustainability Centre Access via 21 Wright Street, Carindale QLD 4152 <h3>What to expect</h3>• Explore our community-run native plant nursery and sustainability centre • Receive updates on the Upper Tingalpa Creekcare program and upcoming initiatives • Learn propagation techniques, including cuttings, division and seed germination • Discover suitable growing media for native plants • Learn how to grow local native species at home • Enjoy morning tea with the group • Take home a free native plantThe propagation workshop will be led by Leigh Weakley, B4C Volunteer Nursery Manager. <h2>Important Information</h2>This workshop is specifically for residents of the Upper Tingalpa Creek Catchment.This includes the suburbs of: Burbank, Sheldon, Priestdale, parts of Mount Cotton, Daisy Hill, Springwood, Rochedale South, Rochedale, Mackenzie, Belmont, Chandler and Capalaba.Please wear clothing suitable for an outdoor environment, including closed shoes, a broad-brimmed hat and a long-sleeved shirt. <h2>About Upper Tingalpa Creekcare</h2>This workshop is delivered as part of Upper Tingalpa Creekcare, an initiative of Seqwater, delivered in partnership with local catchment and landcare groups to help protect the health of the region’s waterways.Seqwater sources the region’s drinking water through a network of rivers, creeks and dams across South East Queensland. This water is known as raw water and is later treated at Seqwater’s water treatment plants before it reaches the tap. Protecting the quality of raw water at the source helps ensure water can be efficiently and cost-effectively treated into clean, safe drinking water for the community.Rivercare is a water quality improvement program that supports local landholders to adopt best-practice land management initiatives that protect catchments and the health of our waterways.
