2026 ANZAC Day Luncheon - Spitfire Association

The Australian Spitfire Association was founded by the pilots of Squadrons 452 and 457 RAAF, Squadron 54 RAF, and 7 RSU RAAF. Originally a World War II veterans’ association, today we stand as a dynamic force dedicated to ensuring that the legacy of our past continues to strengthen Australia’s future. In this way, we carry the spirit of the founders forward in the work we do today. We champion innovation and resilience by funding research, technology, and defence capabilities through the Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship (SMDF) and other national initiatives. Our mission is to uphold the pioneering spirit of our founders while making a measurable impact on Australia’s security, resilience, and technological advancement.

From Spitfire Legends to Australia’s Defence Future - Celebrate the past. Inspire the future. Be part of a remarkable Australian story. This special event brings history to life while showing how the Spitfire spirit still shapes Australia’s defence and innovation today. Dr Dane will share how support from the Spitfire Memorial Defence Fellowship in 2017 led to a $176 million dollar Australian Defence contract.

Meal. Enjoy a two-course meal consisting of award winning entree and mains, followed by tea/coffee and petit fours while mingling with fellow attendees. Dietary considerations for you and any guests can be added as you purchase your tickets.Drinks. Enjoy a beverage on arrival, a fixed beverage package during the meal, further drinks can be purchased at the bar. No BYO.

Venue. Our luncheon is in Primi Italian restaurant, which has been winning awards year on year since 2021. From their website:"Experience flavours and culinary traditions from all around Italy. Our dedicated team of professionals do their best to create consistently perfect authentic Italian dishes with Australian character. We use only freshest Australian ingredients to enhance every single meal. We are truly passionate about providing our guests with meals and service they deserve."
