10:30am Participants met by Tyronne outside Crosbie Morrison building, ANBG
Welcome, Introduction & risk assessment
10:40am Commence walk, stopping at various points of interest along the track/trail with opportunity for discussion and Q&A
12:00pm Arrive back at starting point. Conclude/depart
WHAT TO EXPECT
Cultural Heritage Walk
Tour guide and Ngunawal Traditional Custodian, Tyronne Bell will interpret the mountain’s changing landscape. Discussion will focus on Aboriginal cultural sites and pathways, a scar tree, artefacts, bush tucker and other plants.
Duration of walk: 1.5 hours approx.
Degree of difficulty: Easy to moderate walk.
What to wear/bring: Comfortable, protective/layered clothing (a light waterproof jacket in case of rain); enclosed walking shoes, hat & sunscreen; bottled water; snack; camera.
Location: Tyronne will meet you outside the Crosbie Morrison building, Botanic Gardens – marked with a red pointer here https://maps.app.goo.gl/jBqSc97pNQeyfn5L8 (the tour will also conclude here). See next page for the walking route.
Please note: the walk will go ahead in light rain. In the event of heavy rain or strong wind we will need to reschedule for safety reasons. Should it be raining on the morning of the walk we will be in contact - please ensure we have a current mobile number.
