Today, both artistic creation and appreciation have moved far beyond professional circles. “Everyone is an artist” –once the radical call of Joseph Beuys, has now become a lived reality woven into everyday cultural expression.

And yet, aesthetic boundaries persist: Should art be shared by all or reserved for the elite? Must it speak only to the refined or harmonize both elegance and popular appeal?

In the end, art is both a professional discipline and a space open to all.

How will amateur art reshape our aesthetic life? What new ways of seeing and dimensions of thought might it inspire?

Contemporary artist, film director and Doctor of Arts Huajie Zhang invites you to step into the worlds of amateur art and conceptual art and explore together the many possibilities of living aesthetically.
