Janet Besançon | Monokini
14 February – 15 March 2026

Monokini is a powerful series of 28 abstract paintings by Australian–French artist Janet Besançon. Created with French pigments, Australian white clay, and everyday domestic tools, these works transform objects of unpaid labour into instruments of protest and expression. Each piece reflects on the invisible, undervalued work expected of women, while the symbolic cycle of 28 paintings honours resilience and generational strength. Grounded in sustainable practices and cultural traditions, Monokini invites audiences to reconsider the tools we overlook and the rhythms we silence. Experience an exhibition that sparks dialogue on gender, identity, and shared human experience.
