Introduction to R Programming (261)

Introduction to R Programming (261)

Overview

The Bond Business School offers students and staff members the opportunity to learn about the [R] platform.

The Bond Business School offers students and staff the opportunity to learn about the [R] programming language from beginners to advanced concepts.

Two multi-modal training sessions will be offered throughout the semester, and will cover content in areas such as platform functionality, packages, plotting, data access, statistics, control flow, and regressions. Additional material will be provided for those interested in covering more advanced subject material at their own pace.

All session material has been uploaded to the Bond FinTech Hub iLearn Community site, which should be accessible for all currently enrolled students and active staff members - if you are unable to access this Community, please contact Dean Earea (dearea@bond.edu.au).

Please be advised The Dealing Room has 28 computers available for attendees. These computers already have all necessary software and packages installed. However, those wishing to bring their own device to participate in the session are encouraged to do so as long as they install both R and RStudio beforehand. Should the event be booked out, please add yourself to the waitlist and still attend the session - it may be possible to share a computer with someone else and still particpate in the demonstration.

The event session dates for the 261 semester are as follows:

  • Week 2: 3pm Friday 30th of January 2026 [PART 1]
  • Week 3: 3pm Friday 6th of February 2026 [PART 2*]

The sessions will be delivered by Dean Earea.

Please register to the Eventbrite session with your Bond University email address.

*Session 1 is a prerequisite for Session 2

Those seeking to learn more about the R programming language are also recommended to visit the Bond FinTech Hub iLearn Community site (https://ilearn.bond.edu.au/ultra/organizations/_49953_1/outline).
