To achieve the full development potential of South Australia's children and adolescents.HDA is an independent non-partisan organisation that encourages the use of evidence-based policy along with universal, targeted and clinical interventions designed to maximise the developmental potential of infants, children, adolescents and families in South Australia.HDA is funded and supported by the Channel 7 Children's Research Foundation, University of Adelaide (Robinson Research Institute), University of South Australia, Flinders University, the Department for Education, the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (Women and Kids), Department of Human Services, Department for Child Protection, and Novita.

Please join us for the 6th annual Healthy Development Adelaide (HDA) Women’s Excellence in Research Award 2021 presentation.

This HDA award recognises and celebrates excellence of research achievement by women working in the field of developmental health and to raise awareness of and support career development for women mid-career researchers.This presentation will focus on children and adolescents as these are the foundational years of health and development, and they are the parents of the future generation. Investing in their health have significant flow-on effects for longer-term outcomes particularly in those groups bearing the highest-burden of disadvantage and poor health outcomes. OUR SPEAKERDr Zohra Lassi, NHMRC Early Career Research Fellow, Robinson Research Institute, University of AdelaideDr Zohra Lassi is a trained Epidemiologist recognised internationally for her identifying interventions to improve reproductive, maternal, newborn, child, and adolescent health &amp; nutrition in disadvantaged settings by advancing knowledge in public health practice and translation into global health policies and guidelines. Her work has been recognised through numerous national and international awards including the NHMRC Early Career Research Fellowship, and the 2021 Episteme Laureate Award from the Sigma Global Excellence. OUR CHAIRDr Jenny Fereday (HDA Ambassador), Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery, Adjunct Associate Professor, Women’s and Children’s Health Network.This event will be held under COVID-SAFE guidelines. Seating will be limited. Please only register if you intend to attend in person.
