Join us for our first Gaming Open Day at Riverton Library on Saturday 18 October, in collaboration with the Youth Services team and SpaceJump.Whether you're drawn to the thrill of immersive virtual reality experiences, the excitement of video games, the rapidly growing world of esports, or enjoy the nostalgic charm of classic board games, this event has something for everyone.This celebration of gaming and gaming culture will allow residents to get hands-on with everything they love about gaming. In a WA Local Government first, SpaceJump will collaborate with the City to introduce the community to the global movement of esports. With millions of fans worldwide, esports bring people together through shared passion, live events, and interactive experiences.Whether you're a player or a spectator, esports offer a dynamic, inclusive space to connect, compete, and celebrate the power of play. So, make sure you come along and gain a taste of what it’s all about!Activities that you'll find are:<ul><li>Quick Round esports Gaming with Rocket League - Hosted by SPACEJUMP</li><li>Try out our VR Headsets and Retro Gaming with our Canning Libraries TEC (Technology Engagement Crew)</li><li>Try out the Switch 2 and Mario Kart World with the Canning Youth Team</li><li>Board Games</li><li>Makerspace Demos</li></ul>This free event will be held across two sessions (10am – 12pm and 12pm – 2pm), and bookings are essential as spots are limited!Bring your friends, family or simply your curiosity, and enjoy exploring, connecting, and playing together.
