We encourage all Australians to “do something kind” each day in July. Why stop after July? Studies have confirmed that brief simple acts of kindness benefit both the giver and receiver. Kindness does not have to be profound to make a difference to someone’s life. A simple daily act for a month has enormous flow-on benefits and also provides an opportunity for kindness to move to the front of our mindset year-round.

Associate Professor Paul Preisz, is director of the Emergency Department at St Vincent’s Hospital Darlinghurst in Sydney. As COVID-19 continues its global assault, Professor Preisz takes us through the story of how Australia has coped with the pandemic. He also discusses his personal commitment to issues relating to mental health, drugs and alcohol, homelessness and social disadvantage.

Jane Hutcheon is one of Australia’s top broadcast interviewers. She’s a Sydney-based writer and facilitator with over three decades of experience in international journalism, TV &amp; video presentation and story-telling. Jane created the ABC TV show One Plus One conducting 500 in-depth conversations in nine years with world leaders, celebrities, CEOs, mavericks, freedom-fighters, justice-seekers and lesser-known heroes from Australia and beyond. As a former international correspondent who’s reported on China, the Middle-east and Europe Jane has a unique ability to talk to anyone. Recently she established her own brand which helps clients strengthen their conversation and listening skills. She’s the author of two non-fiction books with her third, The Good Talk, due out in 2021.
