Time Out Cafe

The Australian Maritime College (AMC) is a national leader in marine and maritime research. To celebrate National Science Week, the AMC is delighted to provide the Tasmanian community the opportunity to meet some of their pioneering researchers and emerging young PhD students.AMCs diversity and areas of expertise create a unique environment for research reflected by its National Centers:<ul><li>National Centre for Ports and Shipping encompassing: Maritime Business and International Logistics &amp; Ocean Seafaring</li><li>National Centre for Maritime Engineering and Hydrodynamics</li></ul>At this Cafe Lab, participants will be joined by PhD Students and Researchers, to hear about the latest research and how the application of maths, science and problem solving apply to real-life scenarios based within the Maritime sector. Topics to be covered at this Cafe Lab event, include:<ul><li>Maximising Fuel Efficiency, Safety and Comfort Through Ship&#x27;s Routing</li><li>Will a floating wave energy converter survive the harshness of Tasmania’s west coast waves?</li><li>Underwater Robots in Antarctica</li></ul>So come and join the Australian Maritime College and grab a beverage and enjoy maths, science and problem solving in a fun, relaxed environment.This National Science Week project is supported by the Australian Government.
