Is a short course designed by Smarter Research Australia, a team of passionate clinician researchers with extensive research backgrounds. The aim is to address the lack of confidence doctors currently experience when seeking research opportunities or independently undertaking research projects.Exposure to medical research can help doctors to better understand clinical medicine; facilitate critical thinking and appraisal; develop teamwork skills; and improve prospects of obtaining training positions.This introductory short course will cover the basics that doctors require to kickstart their research careers. Topics Covered:<ul><li>Finding research opportunities and conducting a literature search</li><li>Using the right research methodology and setting up a dataset</li><li>Conference and poster presentation skills </li><li>Manuscript writing process and authorship discussions</li><li>Q&amp;A panel discussion covering the pros and cons of medical research, navigating authorship conversations, managing research with study commitments and clinical work. </li></ul>
