Join local author Beckie Plant when she launches her new children’s book Friends It starts with “hello” at Orange City Library on Saturday 20 September at 2pm.Beckie has written and illustrated the book with colourful collages about the journey of friendship. Celebrate the joy of making new friends at the launch where Beckie will read the book, host a book-related children’s activity with craft, and the book will be officially launched by Member for Orange, Phil Donato.Making new friends can fell a little scary but all it takes is one small word to open the door to something amazing.This heartwarming, rhyming story gently explores the internal worries children often face when meeting someone new.Through charming characters and sweet illustrations, Friends it starts with “hello” encourages young readers to overcome fear, take a chance, and discover the fun to be found with friends.About the author:Beckie is passionate about writing approachable and non-threatening books that engage and connect children to difficult concepts they frequently face.She brings to life her work in mental health through memorable and catchy rhymes and creatively connects these with sweetly illustrated characters to introduce new skills to children.Beckie has found that, taking a deep breath, offering a smile, and saying “hello”, has created an array of fabulous friendships and amazing memoriesCelebrate Beckie Plant’s latest book Friends It starts with “hello” at Orange City Library on Saturday 20 September at 2pm. Books will be for sale and signing on the day for $20.
