<blockquote>Large Animal Rescue - moving a large animal from a place of danger to a place of safety, with overriding concern for the welfare of everyone involved and without causing injury or death to the casualty or rescuers.</blockquote>

This workshop is targeted to members of agency and key industry organisations to better prepare them when faced with an animal incident or emergency situation whilst performing their daily duties. 
There are a couple of spaces that have now been made available to the general public 
NOTE: Workshop program includes content which may cause distress due to the graphic and/or confronting nature of various emergency situations. Therefore, attendance is restricted to those over 18 years of age 
Members of the public are also able to purchase a Supporter Ticket which will enable a member of a Non-Profit or Volunteer Organisation to attend this workshop (we have 8 volunteer community responders that we need public supporters for)

Content of this workshop includes:<ul><li>The dangers of rescuing large animals</li><li>The golden rules of Large Animal Rescue</li><li>The physiology of a large animal in a stressful situation</li><li>Why emergency services and a vet are vital to the success of a rescue</li><li>The Incident Control system and how to work within it</li><li>The mistakes owners make</li><li>Typical rescues – mud, horse floats, water, septic tanks and water tanks, sinkholes, swimming pools, fences and gates, cliffs, ditches and gullies, hanging, incidents at shows and events</li><li>Approaching a trapped animal</li><li>Danger zones around a trapped animal</li><li> Keeping the rescue simple, low-tech and fast</li><li>Basic rescue techniques – sideways skid, backward assist, forward assist, rollover</li><li>More advanced techniques – vertical lift, hobbled lift</li><li>Rescue from a horse float or trailer accident - the dangers of working within a confined space, road/traffic safety considerations</li><li>Mud rescue</li><li>Water rescue</li><li>The need for ongoing care after a rescue</li><li>Social media risk management </li></ul>And Much More !!
