The Redfern Surf Club acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which it stands, the Gadigal People of the Eora Nation. Sovereignty was never ceded.

Redfern Surf Club announce a new live music series Surf Club Sundays. Presented by FBi Radio and Create NSW.

Running across five consecutive Sundays starting this May/June, the FREE series dips across a wide range of sounds aiming to provide a regular space for emerging artists to showcase their work to an engaged community, ready to discover new music.Rapper Tasman Keith heads the second event alongside Ms Thandi and Mi-Kaisha on May 23. Keith joins the series off the back of a busy 12 months including the release of his debut mixtape, latest single ‘ONE’ with Kwame, and an extensive tour run with Midnight Oil across the Makarrata Project.

About Tasman Keith:Rising Bowraville-born rapper Tasman Keith had a stratospheric 2020 comes off the back of an equally prosperous 2019 for the Sydney-based emcee, who, off the strength of critically acclaimed singles, 'BILLY BAD AGAIN', 'move up' and Evenings, his collaborative EP with Northern Territory singer Stevie Jean, introduced himself to larger and larger national audiences, playing Laneway Festival, Groovin' the Moo, BIGSOUND and more, coupled with the release of his Mission Famous VICE documentary, which shone a light on the collective achievements of his hometown, the highs and lows of life living in Bowraville. With his technical proficiency as a rapper, his storytelling, and the resonant social justice messages of his mission, Tasman has long been positioned as an emergent leader in Australia’s hip hop resurgence. His debut mixtape coronates his reign and exceeds the promises preceding its release, cementing Tasman Keith’s status as a wholly essential artist and a resolute, unassailable voice for the voiceless.

ABOUT REDFERN SURF CLUB:Led by Redfern Surf Club owners and live music champions Yannick Maslard (ex-Oxford Art Factory) and Jade New (ex-Future Music Festival &amp; Secret Sounds), the series fulfills their vision of turning the bar into a versatile and engaging space that hosts a free regular music program while fostering a healthy creative community. Situated on the Sunny corner of Botany &amp; Henderson roads, the Redfern Surf Club stands as one of the few live music spaces in the area with the capacity to cater to emerging artists, particularly in a post-lock-out-laws Sydney. Of the series, the pair share, “Having live music at the Surf Club has always been part of our long term plan and feels really natural in the space.
