kay lloyd is an artist with an eclectic taste. She comes from a fine art background and her work has changed and grown throughout the years. She now enjoys every aspect of art and creativity, from painting canvas, walls, or furniture there isn't anything she doesn't enjoy doing when it comes to the creative process. Her art itself is very bright, colourful, fun and pretty. She has a passion for flowers especially wild flowers and just loves nature. Over the years kay has taught art in various mediums across the globe, she loves to work with kids and adults alike and loves to sit and have a chat over a cuppa and an easel with the older generation, with all the passion and love she has for the world of art she has opened up an art studio where people of all ages can come and enjoy the entire process of art making, in a very unpretentious, relaxed environment. kay is down to earth, very approachable and wants people to feel happy, joyful and positive in every aspect of their lives. She believes that anyone can achieve this through the process of art. She uses 'art as therapy' and wants to teach others the power of using their right hand, intuitive, creative brains to help with self- awareness, self discovery and self healing. With all this in mind kay wanted to find a space where people can express themselves through any art medium and be surrounded by other creative souls and a space where people can explore their own creative expression, not be told what or how things should be done but be allowed to explore and play with their own flow of creativity. All the classes and workshops offered at the studios will work on this philosophy, and empower people to explore their own individual creative pursuits.This is the meaning behind "think purple" and why it is a phrase that holds so dear in her heart.to 'think purple' means to live every moment in the perfect balance of joy, happiness and positivity. Living a life in this way is contagious and rubs off on the people we come into contact with on a daily basis. purple is genderless and contains the right amount of masculine and feminine tones. It is a way of being and living and thinking purple has been family motto my ENTIRE life....When she was a child and had anxieties or worries her father would ask " kay, what colour is it?" her response always had to be " purple Dad, its purple" . To this day they still end every conversation with this saying. and it has become a mantra of hers and she now uses it daily with her daughter .With such a powerful meaning behind it she just had to use it for her art studios. she wants everyone who comes for classes, workshops and lessons to feel joyful and happy in the flow of the creative process . she is PASSIONATE about fostering creativity with every age group. she is probably obsessed lol with the process of art making. as to her it has always been in the journey of ANYTHING that we grow, learn and gain greater insight and self awareness into ourselves. The end product is the small part.

Without doubt the best thing that has come out of opening up THINK PURPLE, is the connection and unique bond I have created with my 12 year old daughter Winny.We spend so much quality time together messing about with all kinds of art. whether it be craft, sewing, crochet or painting and drawing.I am so blessed to be able to spend this time with her.It has also been a time when i have been able to truly connect with her and talk about anything that might be happening in her life that she may need to get off her chest.So I would like to invite anyone who would love to spend some one on one time with their most precious person, in a loving and creative environment. it doesn&#x27;t matter how old your kids are whether they are 6 or 16 i can guarantee they will love doing this with you!!!! and although i have stated daughter it does apply to mum and son or dad and son/daughter too. !I know that my daughter has always loved it when i spent time messing about with arts and crafts with her. it’s always been such a nurturing and special bonding time with each other. And we get to share so many things with each other.So here is what We do at these workshopsThe best times we have had together in the studio, are the times we have spent creating a big abstract canvas art paintings together.So how about it?Would you love to come and play at the studio , with your child while painting a MASSIVE box canvas together?This isn&#x27;t just for the mums i have had Dads creating amazing memories with their sons and daughters and i have also had grandparents with grand kids and aunties/uncles with nieces and nephews. the combinations go on and on lol it can be as abstract as you like or maybe you can bring along a picture of what you would like to paint together. (now remember we need to let go of the control lol and let splashes and paint strokes happen at will.)I will guide you in all aspects of the painting process,All materials will be supplied including gesso, paints, brushes and other art mediums that may be required.this workshop will run on Sunday the 16th May10.30am until around 1.30pm NSW time.Cost is $155 for 2 (adult and child) includes all materials, large canvas (90x90cms) and paints and refreshment
