Significant figures is a panel show of high profile people to find out what  mystery scientist does though games and activities.

That is the challenge for panellists on a live recording of science communicator Tom Gordon and his popular STEMpunk podcast. It all looks a lot more like a game or variety show than a science panel, as we try to figure out what the expert does in and out of the lab.<a href="https://www.facebook.com/groups/570321937653493/permalink/570397117645975/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Facebook livestream</a><a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_63vVUGF5P8" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">YouTube livestream</a>The team will stage four live recordings during National Science Week – Featuring Sydney and regional NSW guests. Each one will see a local scientist playing games and answering questions about research, hobbies and homelife. The event will be a live recording of a STEMpunk podcast. The event will be a panel discussion of high profile people (significant figures) categorised into rounds. - Round 1: 22/7. Panelists ask a scientist a max of 22 yes/no questions in a time limit of 7 minutes to figure out what the scientist does. Then the scientist can explain some of what they do. there will be some follow up questions too!- Round 2: Jargon jive. Panelists guess the meaning of selected jargon and terms in the scientists field and the panelists have to guess what it means!- Round 3: Two truths and a lie. Scientists gives three &quot;facts&quot; about what they do in their spare time, Panelists figure out which is the lie. - Round 4: You Can ask that. Panelists and the audience ask questions to the scientist. They can ask any question they like. More like a traditional podcast for this round.
